Auto

Auto insurance is probably the most common form of insurance and provides coverage for owned and nonowned vehicles, including liability, damage to the auto, medical payments and uninsured motorists coverage.  Throughout most of the United States an auto insurance policy is required to legally operate a motor vehicle on public roads.

Homeowners

Homeowners insurance provides damage protection for your home and personal property from a variety of events, including fire, lightning, burglary, vandalism, storms, explosions, and more. In addition, all homeowner’s insurance policies contain personal liability coverage, which protects against lawsuits involving injuries that occurred on and off your property.  There are six variations of homeowner’s policies to cover your home, condo, or rental.  Once you have decided on the best homeowner's policy, you need to determine how much of it you will need. Make sure that you have enough insurance to cover the cost of fully rebuilding your home if it is destroyed.

Flood

Flood insurance protects homeowners against losses from a flood; if a home is located in a flood plain, the lender will require flood insurance before approving a loan.  Disasters like hurricanes, river floods, floods caused by rain, dam or levee failure or by clogged storm drains are all examples of claims that would likely fall under the protection of a flood insurance plan.  Homeowner's insurance does not cover most instances of flood damage.

Umbrella

Typically, an Umbrella policy is pure liability coverage over and above the coverage afforded by underlying policies, and is sold in increments of one million dollars. The term "umbrella" is used because it covers liability claims from all policies underneath it, such as autos and homeowners policies.  Umbrella policies are mainly used by those who have sizable unencumbered assets, such as a home with a large amount of equity to ensure that even a catastrophic claim will not allow those assets to be placed at risk.  Umbrella insurance provides broad insurance beyond traditional home and auto. It also may provide additional liability coverage for claims otherwise not covered by underlying policies.

Recreational Vehicle insurance mirrors automobile insurance and may cover both legal liability claims against the driver loss of or damage the insured's vehicle itself.  Recreational Vehicle insurance provides coverage for motorcycles, mobile homes, RV’s, boats, and sporting vehicles.
